    Hi all, will be juggling a few other commitments around to try and make it. FYI, just went to the link to google maps but it only showed a straight route to berrima, Gumnut patisserie...any comments on the route would be appreciated. Cheers from a thin blooded Queenslander :)

    If you go back to the initial entry under "New Members - G'day" you'll find the whole route still there. Seems OK to me from the Events site as well.:(

    My description of the route:
    Relatively open two-lane blacktop through grazing country without much traffic until Marulan. Not a lot to see, not a lot of undulation or bends. Then more traffic and quaint little villages through the Southern Highlands. Berrima is very pretty with a few huge pines and plenty of arty-crafty, nick-knacky, tea shops et cetera.
    At this time of year the leaves on the deciduous trees in the highlands should be looking spectacular.
    Long Point Lookout at Tallong would be the high point of the trip for me, although it is off the route by 6 kilometres and has a kilometre of dirt at the end. But the view over the Shoalhaven and Bungonia Gorge is terrific. Well worth the diversion.:up

    I've decided to spend today taking the wheels off and preparing them for new tyres.

    It is a fairly easy route to follow if you print out the google map. If you get lost it is all part of the adventure, plus you can always head towards the highway and take up the route further down the road :)

    Home safe & sound.......thanks all for the ride, especially @DJ & @Imagine for joining me on the Goulburn - Berrima - Tarago - Bungendore loop....was a great day!

    The drive through the highlands was absolutely beautiful!

    @Ron50 - Fantastic tip on the Tallong lookout;

    232.JPG 233.JPG

    And equally as importantly (to be honest, at the time, it was FAR MORE important), lunch;

    234.JPG

    On the left I give you a Steak & Mushroom Pie - Pastry was outstanding, flaky and buttery without being heavy. Steak in nice size chunks, plenty of mushrooms....gravy slightly disappointing, seemed a little bit of a generic bulk produced type. Overall, 7.5/10 (may have taken of half a point cause I really wanted Steak & Kidney, but they were out).

    On the right, Lemon Meringue Pie - Everything was tasty about this one. Nice tart case, nice tangy lemon filling, nice crispy on the outside, soft on the inside meringue. Only problem was the quantities....far too much meringue for not enough tart filling. 6/10

    Worth a visit :)
