Just adjust all the freeplay, out of the clutch cable and voila, instant slipper clutch. Nice bike by the way.

Those bikes have the tyres with 5% tread or something like that don't they? Wonder what they are like in the wet? Personally, I'd go for something a bit more road oriented (ie Pilot Power 3) if you are planning on using it in all conditions.

 

They are pretty slick, the rear tyre doesn't have a groove through the centre of the tyre so if it were rainy I wouldn't imagine it would be a good time.... I plan to use it daily but I'll see how that goes.

 

Grats, I've only heard good things about the 675s. I think Triumph did a good job with the styling as well.

 

Nice bike mate! The stock Pirelli Diablo SP's are poor in wet weather. I'm on a Michelin Power Supersport front tire now and it has the same grip in dry and does much better in wet (although wet riding is usually avoided). Its cheaper and has a longer life if you're looking at tires of the same sports pedigree as the Diablo SP's.

F3 doesn't have a slipper clutch? Not even the white ones???

 

Haha tell me about it... I'm going to be good though. No way would I risk loosing it all (worst case scenario) just for joy rides. My dad will be getting a few rides.... Which he's not complaining about at all.

 

Especially not the white ones. They don't need them, how often do you need it when parked in front of a café?

Going to be a long 5 months

 

Got to see my Daytona in action today with my dad riding it, his first proper ride. All up he said the handing of the bike is spot on although that was after fiddling with the rear suspension. He also said the engine would be really nice in his Bonnie because the power range from the triple is so useable. He was also quite surprised with the quick shifter after I encouraged him to give it a go.

On my end the sound from the arrow exhaust was quite yummy.

 

Getting closer to my fulls date so I'm finally bothered to start installing stuff to my Daytona.

I tested out some HIDs yesterday to see how they look and as I expected they look much nicer:



The HIDs will require a small hole to the plastic light cover and I need to find a nice place for the slim ballast to live. Annoyingly the high beam is a different watt and size so I'm going to leave it as a standard halogen globe. I'll be properly installing them over this week and weekend as I'll need to take the bike apart to fit my alarm and LED indicators/strips.


I also may or may not have a week off work to ride the Daytona HAHA

 

I fitted some HID's to an 848 Evo a while ago, which looked really nice.
Ended up using Velcro to attach the ballasts to the inside of the side fairing panels, which worked well. Otherwise we drilled small holes in the headlight covers, and just used black urethane to seal them. You don't want water getting in there.
I reckon you've gone to this much effort, may as well finish it off and do the high beam so that the headlights match. People will thing it's an assymetric BMW otherwise

Velcro is a good idea, cheers. Thing is the HID take 20 secs to warm up so putting it in the high beam as well means I won't be able to flash and I don't have much room to put the ballasts even though they are slim. Also means I have to get another kit.

 

Planning on doing a lot of riding at night?

 

Nah I hardly ride at night, I don't avoid it but I'm just not out on the bike at night.
