    G'day :up

Do any riders own the hero4 silver, my hero3+ stuffed up on holiday does not work anymore.
The camera has been very reliable up to now, however its stuffed.
IM curious to hear from anyone who has the 4silver, I have viewed some reviews and it has been well recieved by the many users, also I can pick one up for a tad over 400 bucks..
Cheers for any comments or specific views on this subject..

I have a hero 4 silver and im very impressed, the quality of the footage is great. Wish there was more battery life, but all gopro batteries last for bugger all. Get a few batts and double chargers and you'll be right. I think I got my sd card from dick smith or one of those type places, heres a trick, ask old mate if its the best price he can do for it because when I asked that he scanned it and realised there was 10% off :D And with sd cards get the best there is! Do it vid :up

I wonder if the gopro black, which does not have an LCD screen like the silver version, has better battery life because of that?

I've bought counterfeit ones on ebay before and they were fucking shite. It's about one of the only things I won't buy on fleabay due to fakes flooding the market. Really annoying actually.

I had to send mine back to Singapore as it was damaged, they paid UPS delivery.
I'm waiting on a 40% discount voucher so that I can buy the 4 silver.
Pete I was very impressed with my 3+ silver awesome little camera, yes battery does suffer.
However i had a spare and have all the little mounts.
I will be doing footage when Im in the mountains at the end of April.
Last years ride to Bright showed dramatic riding at 1080p.

On another note the session is not for me, as all things its worthwhile doing some research
and buying what suits the budget and what you need out of it...

Yeah I buy very little of ebay, but i haggle and search the net for best prices.
Personally sandisk has not let me down, its a fairly fast card.

Yeah the drama with ebay are a lot of the 'sandisks' are not. Either dodged up ones that don't let you fill to capacity or provide a bunch of errors.

I buy a lot of stuff on ebay; it's great for lots of things but mass market stuff like sd cards are the things the counterfeiters love to get amongst. Ebay shuts the stores down, they open up under a new name and keep the scam going...

I hook my forward facing GoPro Hero3 into the front power-supply near my dash... doesn't everyone have a cigarette lighter power socket on their bike?

you don't ebay from Hong Kong /China , Get them form trusted seller, Sydney or Melbourne.

Yes MSY in Fyshwick is good . I forgot about them .

I've had one camera. Not a GoPro but a 1/2 decent one. I seen it fall off before I even used it just out of Braidwood. I spent an hour walking up and down the side of the road looking for it. but I never found it. It's in it's water proof case 64 gb card and full battery.

I've had a fun afternoon trying to get my Hero4 Silver to stop bloody freezing up on me... I seem to have fixed it by swapping out the battery but I'm not confident in it at all. The old battery went into my brother's camera and it's still working fine so I'm not convinced mine isn't just barely not-broken.

It's apparently a common issue with lots of GoPro's, so you follow their support page and if you find it's 1) not a firmware issue, and 2) not an SD card issue, then it's probably 3) fooked.

As for positives, it's a damn fine camera for sure. I dunno why it went bonkers on me today, but before today it was going fantastic.

Just checking on your process for deleting old footage from the memory card?

I used to just plug the card into the PC, copy the files over and then delete but placing the card back in the go pro showed it was full even tho it showed as having no files (but not after already filming for the day and having broken files) ... These days I just leave the files on the card after copying them, put card back in go pro and reformat.... Never had a problem with footage since.

Spicy that's a tough one, maybe your camera has an internal fault, you may need to contact their support team
which is in NZ, anyhow I had to do that and send my 3+ silver to Singapore, Im waiting for them to send me a voucher for 40% off the purchase of a silver 4..

If I were you vid I would forget about the 4 and just buy a session. We did a dirt ride the other day I had my hero and Cam had his new session. Mine was out of batteries when his still had +80% and he was recording a higher fps than I was. Video quality is easily as good but the session is heaps simpler to use and is way more compact if you want to run it on your helmet.

Thanks for the heads up Razor, I had my heart set on the 4 silver and submitted my purchase today.
With the discount code it was $370 from $599.95 of the pro web site.
I will however get in the habit of not farting around with the lcd display and using the wifi a lot.
I also bought spare battery today with a dual charger from JB. bitchin.
Once I set up my settings from scratch it doesn't need to change drastically.
Damn good camera when you view it on the LG big screen at 1080.
Makes me look like a good rider ''''' :39.gif: Lol
Seriously its a top bit of kit, and captures those rare duals in the mountains.
