    Hi all
Did the Pre-learners today and yay i got my blue certificate.... ;) tomorrow, off to the shopfront to have the endorsement added to my licence.

Found the info here a good heads up on what to expect. While i now that the basic competency to ride, still reckon i need lots of practice to become a good safe rider. Once i find the right bike i'll be cruising the backstreets and will on the lookout for Canberra-riders sessions to improve my skills.

    Cheers
    Ben

Way to go Ben ... Being a Learner myself, I found doing a few laps in a deserted car park was heaps of help. Anytime you would like some company out and about, give us a shout. There is always someone here willing to go for a ride.

    Thanks guys

Well as it turned out didn't get to the shopfront on Friday :( so now have to wait until tomorrow (Tues) to get the endorsement added to my licence. Probably was a good thing really as i was in no state to ride a bike Sat and Sun with the footy finals.

Now to find that bike...... Seen a few interesting prospects on fleabay, anybody bought a bike through ebay?

I've bought two but wouldn't recommend it for your daily ride, specially if you are new to riding, unless you can go see it prior to the auction ending. Quite a few LAMS bikes turn up here, and allclassifieds and bikepoint aren't bad places to start.

Why not start a new thread discussing this issue, heaps of people will be happy to help.

For two days of entertainment it is a bargain :) Take a friend or family member and make a fun couple of days out of it..

I did the PL. There were 6 of us and a fun coupla days was had. The instructor was most entertaining and the 6 of us got along well. I was the only one who hadn't ridden previously? After the others owned up to riding the instructor then displayed his official issue police coffee cup:) This set the scene for the course. 1 guy was going for his instructors licence so had to participate again and he did stall it once or twice too.
We rode Daelim bikes and did some of the course in the rain which kept us cool. For some reason I found cornering right is harder than going left.

OneNonly, Yep I agree when I went for my L's took my son and best friend.. (I was the only one who had never ridden before). Except we did the one day course mid week.
One of the instructors had to keep reminding my girlfriend and I not to sit so straight (we were brought up to have good straight backs sit straight shoulders back), but riding a bike you need to slouch a bit more. So every now during the duration of the course the instructor would do the pose as we rode past... hence now everytime I start to sit straight I recall this. My girlfriend and I have nicknamed the pose as "Doing the Richard"
Sorry got a bit off topic.
