    I'll try and make it.

Traffic after work (I finish at 5 from now until kingdom come) is kinda nasty, so I have to find the back roads from Fairbairn to Civic to avoid it.

I PROMISE I'll be at one as soon as I can, though.

Ah the ghetto wall makes the bikes look even better, the contrast of smooth lines and raw power in a
dank, piss smelling, graffitied alley could not do the GSXR any more justice :D

Re: ACT Coffee Nights - every Monday, CIVIC

    Another executive decision!!!!

    NEW COFFEE NIGHT LOCATION

On Monday (27/08) we will be meeting at the parking in Civic outside Nando/Koko Black at 6pm!

From there Leen and I will escort you to our new stomping ground at Pangaea’s in Manuka where we will be parking on the footpath in a designated area next to our reserved table. Yes you read right, ‘where we will be parking on the footpath’.

The restaurant is biker friendly, half the staff ride – including the boss, and they regularly park their bikes on the footpath, and have never had an issue. Tonight we had a great time with Jeff (a non rider) who after he heard our plan treated us to a free coffee. Very good coffee people!!! He’s organising everything and they are all very very keen to have us! On Monday night we will be breaking his cherry, he’s never ridden on a bike before so he’ll go for a quick ride with Leen and whoever would like to escort. On return we will dub him an honorary netrider ‘Jeff the Jester’.

Please ensure everyone is aware of the plan for Monday. If there is consensus on the night, our Monday night coffee will be permanently held at Pangaea’s.

Please note that they are limited in their ability to split checks, so please bring change for coffee. We will be working on ideas and they are happy to accommodate a separate arrangement especially for us.

We hope everyone can come to this momentous occasion.

After a bit more thought (and the hangover subsiding)

I'm changing my tune, and agreeing with Jase.
Myself, Mel and Jase originally picked Civic because it's central. If people want to try some place other than Cafe Della (which btw - I quite like their nice *strong* coffee) - That's fine. But keep it central, and talk about it.

Both Jase and I (for example) have to come in from Watson for me and Gundy for Jase. And we both work in Bruce. Manuka at 6pm isn't just a quick run down the street.
People - please don't go making 'executive' decisions without talk to peep's - It's really unfair.

I won't be getting along to one of these for a little while, partly because Civic is well out of the way for me when I work in Woden and live in Tuggeranong. If it is moved permanently to Manuka it would make it easier for me to get to and from, and I always like a good coffee. What time do you normally finish up?

Geez guys it's 2 minutes down the road. We'd discussed it before informally to move somewhere where we could have the bikes in our line of sight. As I said if there is consensus that people don't like it, we can go back to the regular civic meet. Or make it 2 locations, fortnightly for each - all can be discussed

Whats one Monday of experimentation? Be adventurous!

Re: ACT Coffee Nights - every Monday, CIVIC

I thought this coffee night had been established for quite some time now ? I know Mel asked me to get along to a session at the start of this year.....

Who decided it would be better off moved to Manuka ? Was this a unanimous decision ?

I know if I had organised something on a regular basis, and someone else decided to change plans that are well-established, I would be mightily pissed off. Its not '2 minutes' down the road in peak hour, its not as central as the City, Manuka is really expensive compared to the rest of Canberra....but ....

.....on the bright side, it also has the best lookin' girlies in Canberra trolling around, so maybe its not such a bad idea......especially as the temperatures increase and the hemlines decrease !!!
