If you're light it will sit on 100 alright. That said it slows down going uphill. My advice is to ride everything before making a decision. And probably go for something you won't be too precious about as there is a fair chance you will drop it at some point...

Yeah I can see the value in not being too fussy, comfort will be my priority for the first bike. I'm probably light enough for a 125 to do that job, but like you said, probably just have to get on and ride a few (assuming I pass the course!)

I'm sure you'll pass no worries.

Main thing is to get something you're happy with. Whether that's a CBR, Virago or a completely different option doesn't matter. Get the wrong thing though and you won't be happy and won't ride. That would be sad...

I did the course ummm 10ish years ago and spent most of it on tip toe and dropped a bike (passed though.. just) am hoping this time round is a little more comfortable!
I've sat on alot more bikes lately, as a pillion, so I'm starting to learn what feels good and what doesn't.
For the record, as a pillion.. Blackbird, Hyabusa, VFR and Speed triple.. awesome :)
Triumph Daytona and Tiger ... scary....

You'll know what's comfortable and what's not. My other half tried a lot of bikes and she settled on the 125 so she could get the basics down pat. Did her P's test on it with no problems whatsoever (didn't lose a single point :D) and then moved on something bigger. I think riding the small bike around was a huge confidence builder for her.

Thanks to the lovely helpful guy at CMC in Mitchell I just sat on a Suzuki TU250x, a GS500, an Intruder, a Gladius, a Yamaha R15, and a Star/Virago.... very cool :) gave me a good idea of how things feel. Loving the TU and the Virago!

When that happens to me it is sure sign that I will end up with one. Another sign is if I happen to choose a name for the bike. Then it is a given that I will be buying it!

Uh oh...what about searching for leathers online because my current jacket wouldn't match the bike.. thats probably not a good sign is it.. I won't say I have a name for it.. but um... :D
