David has been to many a track day...
I'd like to see the Diavel on the track tho.
I've seen a few Diavel's at track days
EC and Wakefield.... Even our own doubletap
Yeah bur you werent riding...
DJY go rip em apart!!!
Well the 30 000 km milestone came and went this weekend... and yes the Diavel still puts a very big grin on my face :yahoo:
Might have to start thinking about a birthday present for it.
I hear Diavels like birthday skids...
Wow thats some big mileage considering you got this beasty in june last year, well done Dave.
Whoa 30k?!?!. And i thought my 14k since April last year was impressive. Well done...and it's good to hear you still love the bike!.
think the calendar year ended up with about 31300 km.
And no, don't ask me how many tyres I went through in that time!
Have you bought shares in Pirelli yet..?
They'd be pretty cheap at the moment, what with all the dramas they're having in Formula 1
Or grabbed a pallet from the states of Pirellis or http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/continental-race-attack-tires-for-ducati-diavel .
Actually with that many kays, a second set of wheels so they can be swapped at home to not interrupt riding at all might be the go... Guessing it's had cambelts done too, probably the first Diavel in Aus to have them done.
Continental's never eventuated...
there were a few people waiting for them, but they never appeared.
Ah, they have it so when you try to order that one it then tells you out of stock. Interesting.
You just need the backwards cap wearing Americans to stretch swingarms and use Diavel rear wheels to get some cheap tyres then (or import the Pirellis)
My Diavel made a new friend today
I forsee many more great rides eh Peterpan
Agreed! I had a ball and got to know the cotter a little better than I have previously. Those Termi's of yours sound fantastic (even from where I was sitting).
Got a new transponder in from Ducati after my fob stopped working... and voila all is good in the world again
Bonus is when Ducati sent the new fob, they also sent CMC the new coolant for my bike as well, so it is there waiting for me when I get my 36 000 km service done
so had my 36000 km service done today...
didn't get in trouble for being slightly over that mark (in terms of kms) but did get in trouble for scrapping my pipes!
Here I was thinking I was only scrapping the feeler pegs.... but oops... yep... underneath side... um...
free coolant upgrade though, plus bled my rear brake (again).
Did chuckle at where they had written "next service due 04/03/14 or odometer reading 42000 whichever comes first".
Mmm anyone want to run a book as to which is likely to come first?
Wouldn't bet on the election and I wouldn't bet on that.
ok thought I'd update this...
Since my last service:
* Free thermostat replacement (under warranty) after the Birthday Ride
* Free top dash replacement (under warranty)
* 9th set of tyres went on
* New GT or Strada seat added
* Ilmberger carbon fibre bits and pieces - yet to go on though.
oh yeah and clocked over the 40 000km mark.
What happened to the top dash that it needed replacement?
