    Hi there

took leaner course over the weekend, got my L yesterday. guess I have entered a whole new world :p

so excited, looking for my first bike now!

never ridden a bike before, hope I made right decision.

have two questions, need some help :D
    1. as for the riding gear and stuff, are there any other stores other than CMC in ACT which are good on range and price?
    2. insurance option, which company are you guys with? any particular company I should to steer away?

    thanks in advance

    Cheers

For gear; try Joes or Aussie Moto both in Fyshwick

    Welcome

Insuremyride is pretty good but it always pays to look around first

Sometimes you can get motorcycle gear at op shops. I've seen them at the Green Shed shop in Civic and try the new Green Shop underneath McDonald's in Civic too. I've also seen some gear at Salvos in Fyshwick too.

You really need a new helmet, all the other gear can be second hand, if you want and there is plenty around on Allclassifieds and Gumtree. There is also starter specials at Aussie Moto and you might get something from Moto Central in Mitchell on Sandford and the corner of Winchcombe.
A second hand helmet may not be all what it seems.
If you get a used bike for your first, which is highly recommended, then you may be best with 3rd party property.

I noticed Cash Converters also have leather jackets/gear sometimes (helmets also but I'd stay away from those).

Welcome to the world of motorcycling!
For gear you could try www.bikersgearaustralia.com.au
I've dealt with them for jackets and pants and their gear's good value.
Scroll down to the bottom of the main page for their specials.

That's one of the best parts about bikes: shopping for stuff!
