    Howdy,

Been lurking for a while, reading up on all the tips and tricks shared by all.

Been a big week. Got L's last Monday (after hitting Joe's for gear at the tent sale day before). Doing the course quickly decided the dream of jumping on a mid sized cruiser was unrealistic with no riding experience. So Wednesday got my slightly overweight middle aged arse a zzr 250 to learn on. (These things were the bee knee's growing up before lams was a thing). Thursday and Friday after work spent cruising the mean streets of the Creek......

Saturday was first big adventure. Practice run to work in Barton. Low speed practice in the empty carparks before heading down through Woden. Cheers to HD rider running defence for me in traffic on Melrose drive, shaky take off must have looked worse then it felt. Down Sulwood drive and back up the Parkway. Woot. My god you can see the bugs insides up real close when they crap out against your visor!

Sunday was where it's at. Did the mountains Ainslie and Black. Got a nod from a fellow rider. Felt like a stonecutter with a sacred tatoo. Getting it leant over up the mountain black. Getting it quickly back upright on a bike running wide the other way!

To Mondays first ride to work. Peak hour, cars everywhere. It's legal to ride in the bike lane on hindmarsh when the traffic is from woden back to the Parkway right...... Right? Free parking at the door... Could get used to this.....

Roadworthy on the bike tomorrow morning..... Hope she passes! Might give the cotter loop a go next weekend! (In between putting my foot down every bloody time on the u turn)

    Cheers and g'day

Greetings & welcome to 2 wheels.
Keep an eye out for MOST practice sessions. Even though it's a while until you need to pass the test, slow speed practice (including U-turns) is a good skill to have.

    Cheers for all the greetings.

Certainly interested in most practice, been practicing emergency stops and uturns after work in the carpark but would benefit from a few (lots of) pointers. Been meaning to check out the kambah markings.

First time out to cotter this afternoon. So much to learn.

    Cheers

The Cotter is great fun, but I like to go with friends (when they're free). Just in case anything happens. Especially on weekends, be weary of silly drivers.
