    Hey all

We seem to have a whole heap of newbies, who wants to get out and have a practice?

For those who haven't come to practise before, we do a few things. We do the elements required for the MOST course, some roadcraft and handling skills. If you are all ready to go, I'll just drill you repeatedly on the test. If you need help, we might just practise the bits of the test until you get it right, or so you can go away and practise some more. If you are starting out, we'll do counter-steering and emergency braking until I think you might be able to survive out there in the scary world. My favourite bit of this is watching you get counter-steering right for the first time. We also tend to talk about a lot of things, so no question is too dumb, ask away.

After that we might pop off to somewhere for coffee. I really liked Gundaroo a few weeks ago, the road isn't too challenging and there is nice coffee.

Who is free Saturday or Sunday 12 or 13 June? After that is the girl's weekend, so I'm probably free the weekend after that.

Practise is at EPIC carpark, the course is painted on the tarmac.

You could always meet up with us out at Bungendore? Or just come along for a whole day's ride?

I should be able to make this one unless I get behind on my last piece of assessment for one of my courses (it's due early the week after). I've been riding for about 2 months now I guess. I expect to have great difficulty with the training due to the size of my bike.

Hmmm... If it's the same day as the coffee cruiser then I'm in trouble :(

That's the weekend right before all my exams... :whip
I'm super keen and hopefully will be there for the training. I'm not sure if I'll do the all day cruise though.

Woohoo - count me in for the practice.

Either Saturday or Sunday (preferably afternoon) is fine for me - I'll make the time.

I'll have to see how I'm going before committing to the ride to Gundaroo. I'm still building up distance and stamina.

I'd probably be keen for Monday 14th..? It's a public holiday and they're the only days I get off from work having two jobs :/

Would the 14th suit people? Liam has a good point, it is the long weekend Monday so TECHNICALLY we should all be free. Fordgtlver, don't worry about stamina, you'll be fine (and I'll be watching you like a hawk). If we go out to Gundaroo, it is about 17kms on the freeway (which is easy and you shouldn't find that too tiring), then is is about 20kms from the turnoff. It isn't far and then we stop for coffee! It is a bit over 1/2hr there and the same back. I won't tell you what I can do it on the busa, it would make me sad.

Everyone welcome for the ride to Gundaroo, but we will be doing 80kms/hr so anyone that wants to go quick can meet us there.

    14th is good for me.

Sounds good Heidi. I'm just being soft. I'll go for the ride to Gundaroo as well.

You'll be right, the best way to build condition is to get out there and do it. Lots of short rides. Once we do the training, you'll be having such a good time, you'll be BEGGING to come.

I'll put this up as an event on the Monday 14 at 1pm. EPIC carpark.

That's a top reason to go and chill, let that mind of yours relax, and head into your exams nice and fresh.

I'll hopefully pop along and drop those cones off for you if you want to hang on to them Heidi. Coffee run sounds good.

Cones would ROCK! I still haven't got myself a set. If anyone ever sees a cheap set, can you buy them for me and I'll give you the money. I don't know if anyone has noticed, but I just haven't been home on a weekend in a year. It sounds strange, but I HAVEN'T BEEN TO THE SHOPS.

Come along to the coffee Gnar, it isn't a long ride, but it is very pretty and there is great coffee and food if you want it at the end.

I should be able to make this, though I have a major essay due on 15th, so if I'm nowhere near finished I'll have to skip it.
