yonex@18:53 - Thats good luck! Once I left my new Shoei helmet on the bike for the whole day - and it was still there when I came in the evening. It wasn't very popular bike parking though.

We were getting to much vandalism on the weekends and in holidays because the old fence was too easy to jump hence the new big fence being put up.

Awesome mate! Time for a dualsport run methinks
Love like you've never been hurt, dance like you do when nobody's watching, and above all IF YOU'RE NOT LIVING LIFE ON THE EDGE, YOU'RE TAKING UP TOO MUCH SPACE!!

Thats really good news. Glad to hear the the bikes back on the road. And if it's a dualsport run you have in mind, count me in.

As for tyres, cannot recommend the *Avon* Distanzia enough. Thats the tyre you have on the rear of the bike right now, actually. Grippy off road, but VERY well contoured for road use. Ooodles of grip on tarmac - a very good balance for someone who's usuallly on tarmac but likes to dally onto good quality dirt dirt roads on occasion.
'Off-Road' is a just state of mind.

Good to see that you've got the bike back, if you have the spare cash you might find it a good investment to get a spare set of wheels for it.

That way you can have dedicated road tyres and dedicated dirt tyres

Yep - that's what Hal said, but he said that I might like the radial version better. I think he said that I had cross-ply on there now, but I didn't know the difference really when I was talking to him, so I might have misunderstood something. I got wise after googling

You read my mind. As soon as I figure out how to get this fugly $20 replacement indicator on there to make it legally roadworthy... I'm thinking Friday funtimes... or maybe if there is interest, on a weekend too

What are the tyres going to set you back?
    $420 fitted for the set
But I don't have confidence in these anymore and it really affects my riding - I get anxious in every corner... I'm willing to pay a bit to feel glued to the road. Hal recons I'd be quite ok on the $290 michelins, and I love racing michelins on the pushbike, but I've read a lot of good stuff about radials and am willing to pay this to get confident again

$420 isn't an expensive set of tyres Alex. That's what I paid for my last set. That extra $130 IMO would be worth it. I went from cross-plys to radials in my last set and wouldn't go back

It's not an expensive set of tyres, but it is an expensive purchase
And yeah, everyone online seems to think radial is worth it.

Yeah that's true but at least you won't need another set for a while.

Does this mean you only need to buy a front?
