As some of you may have seen in the wanted to buy, I put out the feelers for my dream bike, a Triumph Daytona 675 after seeing a local 675R pop up and seemingly get sold before I had a chance to look at it.

I was very specific on the models/years I was after because of a couple of factors. I had considered buying a brand new run out 2014 model next year but personally I don't like the look of the new front and the side mount exhaust. I know that the new ones have a tweaked engine and new gauge/display which were nice but the looks made the decision to get a 2011-2012 model. And insurance on a brand new bike was a killer.

    Anyways the story continues....

The owner of the local 675R somehow had my mobile number wrong and so I didn't hear anything back for over a week (I had thought he may have had another buyer or something)

I ended up meeting him and the bike, took my dad a long to ride it and it was amazing. I said I'll pay what he was asking and sort out my finances. He had two others interested so I paid a deposit and after being stuffed around by my bank for two days I finally had the bike on the Thursday arvo.

I'm beyond happy with it. It was one of the lowest KM Daytonas on bikesales and the cheapest R version. It still has original tyres, rev light change was set to 4,000rpm and 5100km total. I'd say it's as close to being a new bike as I could get. I will probably love this bike as much as my future children.... Haha :/

It came with a lot of factory fitted extras including arrow exhaust, rear seat cowl and carbon bits plus a good quality tail tidy.

There's a few things that need to be done, due to having LED rear blinkers I need to get a flash relay, time wise it's due for a service, I'd like to get new tyres, alarm and gps tracking and radiator protector screen.

Very nice bike, I love the daymtonas! Congratulations!

Are they not functioning at all?? It's easily fixed by going to Jaycar. Flash relays cost around $10 and doesn't take long to fit. I did my front ones when I had flush indicators installed.

    Thanks!

Yeah they are working but flashing too fast... I will probably end up putting in LED front indicators as well before getting the relay.

But thanks that was my next question, where can I get one :)

Won't a load resistor fix that?

    Example: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/2-x-25W-8ohm-LED-Turn-Signal-Light-Load-Resistors-Flash-Blink-Rate-Controllers/371097170418?_trksid=p2054897.c100204.m3164&_trkparms=aid=222007&algo=SIC.MBE&ao=1&asc=20140407115239&meid=b1702b5cd0e54a0caecf02cc95f9ba42&pid=100204&prg=20140407115239&rk=1&rkt=20&sd=161262397195

(you can get much smaller ones)

Anywayz, nice bike. Love the Daytonas. If I wasn't such a fat giant I probably would have ended up with one myself. :)

LED flasher unit: supercheap have them. I prefer using them to resistors, then they flash independent of load which is good :).

Nice work, the 2011-2012 ones are nice. Changed a lot of wheels on them for a racing one down at the PI 8 hour, so I've enjoyed getting up close and intimate with one :).

I love the bike but what's with no slipper clutch in 2011 ? I would ride most things, even own most things but for me to own something it has to have a slipper. Yeah you can add one but seriously 2011 and not a standard fitment. People will get on here and wank on about back in the old days/ say if you can ride you wouldn't need one. I say get fucked. I say everytime I ride and have a dip that clutch is working real hard. Be fucked I don't rev match on down shifts, if it's lucky I will modulate the clutch between gears but most often 2 or 3 gear changes .......let the clutch do the work whilst I worry about the brakes. There wouldn't be many people here that can blip the throttle and maintain the correct position/pressure on the front brake. Congrats on the new bike. I want something like that. Maybe one day...

Ducati 1098/1198 didn't have slipper clutches and the 1198 was made until 2011. It's probably more common than you think. It's also pretty easy to rev match on the down shift and apply consistent braking pressure if you practice it. It helps if you aren't going 110%, though ;)

Does it really matter how fast they flash? At least they get attention lol.
Problem that I had is that they weren't flashing at all

On a side note, it may be of interest to investigate into the integrated mirror indicators. I was going to get these, and they look pretty cool.

The is a minimum and maximum blink rate, but really, as long as they actually blink, you'll likely be fine rego rise.

Anyway, sweet bike man! They look freaking gorgeous in white too.

Yeah I have been looking at the mirror blinkers too.

Yeah they just flash really quick which I guess it's probably more visible to the cagers... But a little annoying
