How's it going, I met a few of you about a year ago at a learner session and I really enjoyed it, but got distracted by other things and didn't make it to another one.

Since then I still commute most everyday on the bike, unless it's in the shop. Throttle cable snapped on me a couple of days ago on the other side of town, as if by dumb like I was right across the road from Moto Central so didn't need a tow! Should have it back early next week, oh how I did not miss public transport...

Also going to be starting as a Motorcycle Postie soon. I'll never be off a bike at this rate!

Looking forward to going on a ride, or coming to coffee sometime. :)

    Todd

Welcome! Plenty of folk here can help out and advise on simple repairs like broken cables too. All part of the service to get you back on two wheels sooner, cheaper and with greater satisfaction.

The throttle cable snapped before on me maybe 10 months ago, there may be an underlying problem that I would definitely not recognise! I also needed a service anyway (had one booked for next week), so was happy to leave it at the shop.

Had a bit of a spill a month or so ago, needed to get a new indicator. Felt like a genius when I put it in myself, even though it's a simple fix. :p

G'day Todd, welcome mate. Posties rule. Hope you enjoy the job. Look forward to running into you at coffee sooner rather than later.

A few of us might be quite jealous of you getting paid to spend all day on postie bike , especially one that's not half dead ;-)

Check that the throttle cable isn't getting pinched somewhere. Small amount of pinching on the outside conduit of the cable makes a nice rough spot on the inside, which wears out the inner cable really fast. Also keep the lube up to the cable.

Got the bike back, feels nice and smooth again after the service. They couldn't seem to find an underlying problem... hopefully it doesn't happen again!

Will probably make it to coffee tomorrow, will be good to meet some more riders. :)
