    Hey everyone,
I'm after a bit of help, when I first got my CX500 the LH carb was overflowing, I pulled it apart and gave it a bit of a clean checked the float and looked for cracks in the bowl all seemed ok so tried it again and it still overflows, I swap the float, the float needle and the bowl from left to right, but it stays with the left carb so I'm pretty confident its not a sticky float or needle.
Does anyone have any suggestions on other things I can check?

Take the fuel bowl off hold the float up and see if that shuts the fuel off. That will give you a better idea as you can see whats happening.
I would think if its not the needle it a worn seat or some crap in there not letting the needle close off.

If you have a vacuum type petrol tap ie a narrow vacuum hose going to it you've got two problems. You will need to rebuild that tap as it is the first line of defence against seat and needle issues otherwise you will have a sump full of petrol. You did check your oil before attempting to start didn't you?

Thanks guys, I hit the needle seats with some brasso and it seems to work beautifully now.

And no my bike doesn't have a vacuum petcock just a gravity fed one.
Oil is ok but replacing it now anyway.
