Righto here is what i posted on the CR FB..... for those that aren't into face stalking.....

if you are a fan of go pro's etc..... except the shitty battery life they offer! I have found the answer!

Righto, I don't know about you mob, but the rate of battery consumption on the gopro side of the house is ludicrous wink emoticon

I am so getting one of these, will modify it and make a waterproof socket in a couple of likely mounting locations and power it via the battery. Then I will have no issues with using the WiFi function etc. Have the GP on a rolling record so I don't miss the cool shit etc....Hopefully it will reduce the fogging also, as it won't generate the heat that a battery does!

Initially browsing the interwizzle i came across this Aussie vendor....

however, at 13-20 days before shipping plus $20+ for postage..... they can eat a massive bag!

it is funny, that to get it delivered in Oz it was over $20, yet DHL global from New York to Canberra... USD$9.25

I have bought a fair bit of stuff from B&H over the years, very good service. Even with the ozzie peso being way below parity you can still get the odd bargain from there! Decent filters for my DSLR were way cheaper to import than buy locally..... Almost half price for the Hoya's when i ordered them a couple of years back. Same with a carbon fibre tripod etc....

oh and here is what initially inspired me!

I'd be interested to see what's inside the "Regulator" - Perhaps they could be made with a waterproof housing by tapping into the bikes fuseblock and packaged as such rather than having a cigarette port... Hmm.

I am going to set it up for my kayak, and will have it with a waterproof plug so it can be quickly detached and moved. Will just get some decent waterproof plug's from jaycar. I am pretty sure all the actual regulator part is in the actual bit that connects to the battery, as the cable is available in different forms such as USB etc.
