    Welcome,

Usually a bit of an introduction goes a long way to getting advice and a conversation going, guess we can't ask to much of you Kiwis though :)

A quick search of the forum would of shown you many threads discussing this topic to some degree, Belt and bevel is the dedicated Ducati mechanic, your other options are Rick Miller, Motogarage, or -shudder- CMC. There might be more I have missed but those are the ones I know of.

Everybody has their own opinions of the places, more than like find some pros and cons with any of the options.

For my personal opinion I go to Moto garage in Mitchell, Brett has always done good work on my bikes.

Rick doesn't really do Ducatis, basically it's CMC (the dealership), Moto Garage or Belt and Bevel. B&B pick your bike up and take it to their workshop (not in Canberra). CMC being the dealer do the usual dealership things, though I have no experience with them other than buying Ducati bits. Brett at Moto Garage has done all of my Ducati stuff since the former dealer shut down in 2011, and I've been happy with what he's done for me with the bike - both regular servicing, a couple of fixes, tyres and also tuning stuff.

I took my 2015 Scrambler to CMC to get the rattling exhaust fixed under warranty . My fault when I said it sounded like a dry clutch. Well I think they took it that I actually know what I was talking about so they stripped down the clutch and now it is in bits since Monday waiting on parts from Sydney apparently there was a part the mechanic didn't like the look of.. Well I have been promised it back tomorrow but it will still have the rattling Termignoni because they have to order that in.. anyway that is my week..
Well I am sure all will be fine as how can you fark up a clutch? What can you do?

Ask anyone at the Canberra Ducati club and they will tell you that Belt & Bevel is the ONLY place to go for Ducati servicing in Canberra...they actually CARE about their work and the people that ride these bikes. They are also riders of Ducati since Christ played full-back for Jerusalem

Well got the scrambler back today, they found the rattle in the termi after replacing a clutch drive pin that had normal wear. So it will have to go back next year when the termi gets here... after that it is going to have to be bye bye to cmc.

Beats me how you can track down a rattle to any one component in a Duc :10.gif:

Bugger missed those that were removed ☺. . Anyway just to continue on. I took a good look at the duc this morning and the clutch cable was installed wrong. It was positioned so the cable exited the outer at a near 90deg angle and further up the cable was stressed and angled (so not a smooth transition from hard outer to the flexible outer)... so i disconnected it turned it and it now sits much better in the engine with least wear . Basically a little bit of care when assembling would have gone a long way...

What did CMC say when you called to tell them about the careless assembly?

Always pays to check over your bike after a service.

Really, I have had dozens of services and never checked it after.

Not saying mistakes don't happen but start with a mechanic you trust.

I never called them back to complain... as far as I am concerned there is no point as they gave me the impression that they wouldn't care anyway. I figure while I have a warranty claim and they have to put on the new termi when it turns up I dont want anyone that have the shits with me working on my bike... it isn't the ideal thing to do as the next dumb bunny will cop what I just did... I just won't be going back, simple as that. .. ...

Alternatively you could call back and point out the problem and make them care by asking why you should come back for a service again. Just a thought.
