The local sulphur crested cockies are getting bolder and bolder. The cars in our driveway has, lately, had a lot of various stuff dumped on it. I was going to blame it on the local possum but turns out it's this fella instead.

Looked up the rs of a few today near Bookham, I cringe when they swoop low across the road in front of you, don't know how naked bike riders think of it but bird prootection is a high value function of even a small fairing.
Good photo, you sure you didn't shoot it (USA style) and stuff it first:p

My family's old house in Macgregor has a crabapple tree that the damn things loved. Used to cover the lawn with half eaten apples and make a huge racket. The dog used to chase after them, until they realised they were bigger than him and started chasing him back.

Haha, I always see gangs of them roaming the neighbourhood and destroying trees. Cockatoos are the best, they keep it real and don't take orders from anyone.

There was an awesome one at Coles Bay, underneath the general store there. My old man bought an icecream there, walked outside and started eating it in front of the cocky. The cocky asked "can I have some?", dad just kept eating. Then filled the car with fuel, went inside to pay for it and as he came out he said "bye cocky!".

To which the cocky replied "NOT TALKING TO YOU", turned around on his perch and faced completely away from the old man.

Unfortunately not a happy ending, I believe the cocky perished in the fire in the general store a couple of years back. Poor thing.
