I looked above the carburetters, around the knee area and couldn't find it...

In fact, what does it even look like haha

On my VT750 it's near the air box (there is another screw inside the carbs too I think)

Not familiar with that particular carb, but becareful. Very often idle speed and idle mixture get confused. Mark the screws and count the turn(s).
I'd be reluctant to fiddling with the carb, I'd be suprised if falling off the bike would effect either. Try flushing the carby first, and draining the tank first.

Also I have seen many idle mixture screws capped off from factory (so it does not look like a screw), this is simply because you don't need to touch it.

Ah is there a tutorial (for non-mechanically minded peeps) for that?

4? more than 2 pages... As J-D explained, the workshop manual will have detailed instructions (and usually pics) on how to do almost everything. You can download a copy of one form the web too, (that one is awesome J-D brilliant work mate!) but I'm sure watching ebay, an original hardcover manual will come up. Theyre invaluable, especially if you get one for your exact year model, theyre worth their weight in gold.
