Gotta call from Dahlitz, things are still looking good for having the bike back.

Suzuki however have advised that they are only covering 50% of the costs... even though the gearbox is clearly listed (clutch isn't) ... looks like i'm going to have to take this up with suzuki.

Google has told me that this seems to be a common occurance..

Suzuki pay 50% as a "good will" offering...

success rate of people getting suzuki to cover all costs seems to be about 20%.. where 10% get the good will option and the remaining 70... they have to cover full costs.

lol don't like my chances.

as supa mentioned in another thread... maybe i should have bought a V-rod or a RocketIII

Is this the 2nd gear issue like mine, yeah?
Best of luck. *No one* Ive read about has gotten it covered without lawyers getting involved.
Suzuki always trot out their standard 'you ride it too hard' excuse.

I can't believe this is still going on , if it was a personal injury you would be covered for pain and suffering . The time frame alone is fucked up . Good luck . When they give it back to you ride through the front window and blame the gearbox for actually working and say to them that Suzuki will cover maybe 50% through goodwill

That is almost spot on to what they have said... and from what i could find out... personally though, paying a lawyer to recover 512 bucks seems a tad excessive to me, but they are atleast covering 50%

lol.

You beat me to it! LOL
So if they are covering 50% and the bike is ready... does that mean you can pick it up and then work out after the fact whether or not you will pursue further recovery from them?

I have two words.... Burger Run.... or Coast Ride.... or Come Play :)

I have already sent the E-mail and left 1 message with suzuki, it's not Dahlitz's fault and greg has always been good to me, i'm paying it..and attempting to recover it through suzuki...

The issue for the coast is whether CMC get my jeans in time... cos my old ones are way to big (exponentially so) i found some summer jackets at CMC that fit today, so just waiting on kevlar pants!

i could wear my 2xl winter jacket.. but it's to big now... it does allowing for layer next winter though, which is a plus!!

I'm keen DJY, but I suspect I need to spend some time with Home Command, especially as I'll be off for another three-day ride soon with the Thunderbird crowd.
