Due to other demands on time, funds and space Ive decided to let this go. Ive had it a while and was in no hurry to work on it. Every now and then I chased up parts but I just dont have the time to get the jigsaw back together and need to move on:(

This is the first "modern" looking CB450, as in same styling family as the CB750. Drum front brake not disk which, I think, makes it the 1969.

Ill post some photos tomorrow to give you a better idea. Despite appearances its pretty complete. Wiring however is virtually nonexistant. Pipes are original but rusted out. Doubt they can be repaired but maybe. If not they will give you an idea what genuine should look like. Motor is complete but not in the bike. Tank and mudguards are straight but need repainting. Wheels, forks etc are OK too. I have an original workshop manual and a wiring diagram. Parts are surprisingly easy to get with eBay showing thousands of hits.

I could probably make more parting this out (straight tanks alone sell for a bit) but would like to see it rebuilt. Hate to see another genuine classic lost. The 450 was Honda's superbike before the 750 came out and is a milestone in Honda's past. It will be a BIG job though so not for the faint hearted.

Hard to price as there is only one for sale at the moment I could find. Its an early 70s in brilliant condition so its $8000 price tag is no help.At best this would be the Bizarro 450 by comparison. Ones Ive seen in the past sold for between $2000 and $5000.

The photos will make it clear but to emphasise this needs a lot of work and will not be going again with just an oil change and a few weekends polishing the chrome.Id like to see $500 as thats what it owes me one way and another. Make an offer though and we can see.

Yeah sorry bad day yesterday and didnt get to it. Will do on Saturday instead. You are welcome to come and have a look in any case.

Keep in mind this part " It will be a BIG job though so not for the faint hearted." Thread sub heading explains it best;)

    Hi Jas and others.

The bike has been sold. It has gone to a new home in the CR family so I look forward to seeing a thread on its revival:D

Sorry Jas Geography can be a cruel mistress:(

Congrats to the new owner, and to Neil on a quick sale. Agree a thread would be good :) If your circumstances change let me know.
