+1. Also, when you say it's "in parts", what do you mean? Has everything been pulled off it? Is the motor together?

yep, 24 bids and it went for slightly over $1k. A bargain in every respect.

I have seen my model Z650 (1981) for sale in Just Bikes at a dealer in Victoria - for $7,500. It was immaculate original with low km's ......but I almost fell over when I saw this price.

The Z650 was a gem with (in my eye) pretty good loooks (for a 4:p) ... but $7 1/2K, I wonder what they got.

That's BS. Why are you always slagging off at Kwaka's? You got something against them? The drugs and guns were on the table not in the frames. You're full of it. Get your facts right before you start slinging mud next time...

the one on ebay only went for a bit over $1k mate. The one that was for sale at a central Vic dealer (one that specialises in old bikes) - was advertised for $7.5k but who knows what it actually sold for ? It was immaculate, original and low k's ( about 12k from memory ?). That is absolute top dollar for a 1981 z650, but that is par for the course for this particular seller. Some time ago, he had a bog stock 1978 XT500 for $6k !!! It was clean - but nothing special....

Yamahas, I hear, are secret bastions for smuggling ekkies. The tuning fork looks so pretty on the pills.

So the one that went for +$1K (the subject of this thread), was partially disasembled? am I right, that should pull the price down heaps unless the buyer has faith in the sellers honesty, which isn't going to happen on Epay. I guess those old Ks never died & were very popular so there should be lots of them around.
Still some people would be happier on an old Z650 than a modern techno bucket and if you can get 'em for $1K, 'nice work if you can get it':)

from the description on the ebay ad - yes it must have been in pieces. I have had faith in sellers honesty on ebay when buying bikes before, but they were local bikes and I could check them out pretty well - so that helps. Buying a bike sight unseen from another state - yes you would want to hope that you were not dealing with a shonky prick.....

there are a few 650's around, they do last forever pretty much - I guess that must be that inbuilt Kawasaki reliability :biggrin
