Last year I brought the Honda with hopes and dreams of stripping it down and restoring it as a cafe racer or something similar.

Unfortunately I have been unable to find any spare time between moving house and having 5 kids running around so the bike has sat neglected for over 12 months. Now that I am only 2 months away from my full license I have decided to sell.

    What I have:

    • 1 hail damaged CB250. Mostly complete. Excellent for parts but could be fixed up to run again.
    • 1 CB250 in a box. Was a complete running roadworthy bike (I rode it for a while) but then I stupidly torn it down to a frame.

    Good bits:

    • Near new front and rear tyres still on rims.
    • Cafe racer style handle bars.
    • Complete spare engine I took out of the running bike. Was running strong but had a minor oil seep.
    • Brand new in packet complete engine gasket kit (Cost $100) to suit CB250.
    • Good mirrors / indicators etc.
    • Excellent condition tank, rattle can black.
Looking for $500ono for the lot, but willing to split if required.

<Random>I am also planning to build an arcade cabinet. I need a 22/24" lcd monitor, arcade controls, and the cabinet itself. Willing to trade for those things</Random>

    I will organise pictures soon.

    Cheers
    Aaron

    Aaron,

I cant help with purchasing your CB250 but I thought I might offer some arcade advice. For a cabinet, your best bet is to make one from scratch in MDF. However you may find an orginal cabinet on eBay or even at Capital Pinball in Mitchell. Original cabinets can be sometimes expensive especially if it has original graphics on the case (as opposed to a generic JAMMA machine).

If you are building it yourself, you can get some nice plans from Urban Arcade Machines (http://www.blacklight.com.au/urban/)

For parts etc, I can highly recommend OzStick (http://www.ozstick.com.au/). I purchased a fighter stick for connection to my PC for some MAME love :)

Thanks Monk. Definitely looking at building it myself. Always good to find resources/info on what people have done previously.

Gonna sound like a stupid question but are these photos similar to your CB250?

Also is it still for sale?

Being that I know absoloutely nothing about motorbike maintenance or mechanics, I reckon that this might be the sort of project that will help increase my knowledge. And if it doesnt well its not like I have killed Wanda!

The one I tore down was exactly like the first picture (silver). The complete hail damaged one is a little newer (tail section slightly different) but basically the same parts wise.

    Still for sale.

These would make an awesome cafe racer project.

And if someone else starts doing that - it might finally give me the motivation to start on my CB125...

I would love to pick out parts for my 82 cb400....

    I need...

speedo, headers, silencers, collector box.... tail light. May be worth just buying the whole lot.. but I'm really only interested in the 81's parts.

Sorry Wal, had trouble logging in to my account over the weekend. Just reset the password and all is good :D.

Still for sale, although I have a guy pretty interested in taking the whole lot so I would prefer to do that if possible.

I'll give him a couple of days to decide and then open it up to people everyone else who just wants parts.

Obviously if you are interested in the whole lot let me know, any evening is fine to come around.
