Apologies if its already been mentioned - I still have shiteloads of threads to catch up on - but just a heads up that they have changed the Limit on the eastern most section of the Kings (Nelligen->Batemans Bay).

Its now down to 80 (from 100) and the signs and corner-advisories have all been downgraded. Not sure if this is a "Trial" or if it is a permanent change - the revised corner advisories make me suspect it will be permanent.

Road markings still indicate 100 - but remember that a sign takes precedence over road markings (which are considered to be an added courtesy and not enforceable), so the limit is enforceable at 80...

So be wary - even doing 105 out of old habits will now cost you a fair chunk of change in NSW these days...

If its permanent, that sucks. Even a lot of the 90/70 sections feel too slow. I look forward the 100k blast from Nelligen to the Bay, escpecially after getting stuck behind slower vehicles.

Yarg... I questioned often the point of the Kings last few years.. and with the 70 section over the Clyde and through Govt. Bend, and now the 80 zone... one does have to think there is an awful lot better corners with far less of a commute ....

Ahh, but why SPEND money fixing a road, when you can RAISE money by lowering the speed limits and booking people.

Sounds like a review of the safe operating speed along that segment, especially considering that the advisory signs have been changed. I haven't been along there for a long time but recall it being a pretty good piece of road. Is the surface shagged ?

Very poor form not eradicating the pavement markings.
