So theres more details about Google Glass' interface out now in the video below. Some nifty features, and the in-view navigation could be awesome on a bike. Also the video capabilities etc. And given it has a full API - I give it about a month till someone writes a motorcycle HUD specific app for it ! :)

I unfortunately missed out on the developer packs - I couldn't attend the conferences nor did I have the $1200 spare at the time to pay for the dev conferences :( - but I'll be keen to get my hands on the next batch... Its still a 'gimmick' no doubt for the Gos' of the world... but it shows a lot of promise I think in terms of an 'aid' for stuff like snowboarding, skiing, fart arsing around.. and eventually a HUD (wouldn't be hard to add gear position indicator, speed, etc etc)

Very cool. So much more potential than even shown in that video.

Sadly, if smartphones are anything to go by, 90% of users will just use it to tweet drunken pictures of their freinds in bars and trawl facebook all day.

    These do show promise.
I've been looking forward to the day where I can get a pair of glasses with inbuilt HUD for about as long as I can remember. Hopefully these are one step closer to that goal.

I suppose that the glasses have a 3g SIM card in them. All you will need to do is get an app written that allows you to use the glasses as a telephone and you will be set!

    This.

Except now they could potentially have the ability to see and record (and sell?) whatever you see.

Dont worry, someone will rewrite a modded software version sans all of google's bloatware (cyano-glass?) ...hopefully. Of course, most people won't be bothered to use it
