Good stuff. It must be a nice feeling to have some power in reserve.

    Quick Update:
I rotated the bars down and back a bit. As a result, the grips are a little lower and closer to me and the levers are pretty much level with the grips. (They were a bit lower to help with wrist positioning for off-road riding...) I like the ergonomics much more this way, but the bolts attaching the bark busters might dent the tank if the bars are twisted into full lock forcefully (and into the windscreen, which they were always going to hit anyway)... However, it seems that full lock is a much bigger turn than on the little CBR and I'm not sure when I'd use it except a parking lot where the impacts aren't going to be that forceful (and there are little plastic protective circles stuck on the tank anyway).
Also got the first filling up numbers: 258.1 km for 14.01L = 5.4L/100km, much thirstier than the CBR125, but not too bad - and the extra power is worth it :rockon

Woo! Interesting choice of bike. Glad to hear you have something with a bit more power now.

Peanut, I want you to do something for me. Can you please have your partner check your pupils. I wanted to check them but I missed you. Either get a torch and have her flick them over your eyes, your pupils should react to the light, or you can stand in a bright light and shut your eyes for the count of 15 and then open them quickly, they should shrink.

If they are different sizes, GO TO THE HOSPITAL. If they don't react to a light change, GO TO HOSPITAL. If you throw up or get a headache, GO TO THE BLOODY HOSPITAL!

I can't stress this enough, and I know you think I am being silly, but just humor me. They were awfully large when I saw you and I worry.

    What Heidi said.

I work with emergency ambo's, and know quite a bit about head injuries etc. What Heidi said is spot on, even if you feel ok, if your pupils aren't equally reactive, or are different sizes, its a serious problem.

Hope you are ok mate, don't know anything other than apparently you have had an off.

Strange, I know, but Kempsey is nowhere near Omeo or Bright? Suspect you may have posted the wrong link :)

Im with CT90. Thats a mighty dry lookin chain you got there.

So does upgrading to a bigger bike before you're ready, still sound like a great idea?

    Okay, I'll repherase it.

After a witnessing a few hours of the Op's riding style and skills on his 125, to which a number of members agree with me here and the fairly serious most recent off on a newly upgraded bike (Bike not new, the fact he upgraded about 15 minutes ago) in my opinion (and thats simply what it is, MY opinion) point towards a possible lack of experience and skills to upgrade so soon.

To the OP: Maybe you upgraded too soon? Are you maybe thinking 'shoulda clocked up a bit of experience on the 125 before going bigger'? If so, then it probably isnt safe that youre riding a bike too far outside of your experience and skills. If youre not thinking this, then by all means, go nuts, but very little sympathy and condolances will come from the Miz corner when it happens. Note: When, Not if.

Well yeah it might be the case but perhaps after the wounds have healed we can point out the obvious. The ego would be hurting enough for the moment, the leg too. I think we've all seen riders come down on bikes they've had plenty of experience on and do something simple like slip on a bit of loose gravel...

I will simply say, sorry to hear about your off Alex. Only YOU know whether this was a good or bad move and I wouldn't take it on myself to tell you either way.

I really hope you feel better soon and the bike scrubs up ok :)

EDIT: We all have opinions. The difference is people have the capacity to select when is or isn't a good time to voice them.

MY opinion: The day after the off is not a good time - Just MY opinion

Steady on there MIZ, I notice that you are rather proudly showing a Team Crash'10 in your sig as if that is something to be proud of and I remember an accident that happened very early on to you due to lack of experience. I also remember a lot of people, me included, giving you some advice at the time to point out where you went wrong, no blame or finger pointing involved, more taking care of a newbie so it didn't happen again.

After talking to Peanut and a few others last night, it is very likely that he ran out of tyre on his nobbies. Yes it was inexperience on the new bike, but how is he going to learn how the bike reacts unless he rides it? From all accounts, he was riding nice and slow and within his capabilities, but the front let go. From those who where there, he wasn't being a dickhead. Sometimes they are called accidents for a reason.

I've seen a few L platers ride now, and I know who is an accident waiting to happen and who isn't. Despite all evidence to the contrary right now, he isn't one of them.

Oh yeah and if i recall a whole thread was posted directed at Learners and how we should ride OUR OWN Ride and within our own limits. Funny that. One measley post vs a WHOLE Thread is hardly the same. But thanks for the vindictive Jab! ;)

I know my limits, and admitting to where they are and riding within them, is something the OP might not be acknowledging. But hey,a suggestion is treated like a bealting around here it seems...

Team Crash Isn't something to be proud of, and on that, my sig is my sig. I'll put what i like in it, but thanks for your concern. maybe easing into riding a bigger bike is what the OP needs to do. Not riding balls out to see where the limit is by finding it and eating bitumen..?

After watching Peanut nearly lose it 3 times on a clyde run, only a month or two ago, and biting my tongue then, and letting other senior more experienced members pipe up and lend some advice, I'm pretty sure im allowed to express my opinion.

I'm all for encouraging everyone to get out there and better their skills and experience, but Yes, let's all encourage everyone to go out there and give it a red hot go and when it all comes falling down around them, noone has the balls to say "hey, maybe you're out of your league just a weeny bit?" Anyone heard of constructive critism?

By your reports (and TBH i trust your judgement, advice and experience quite a bit) he's not one of the most likely to have an accident, but yet he's the most recent to have a fairly major one...? Okay..?

Couldn't agree more, with all of your points actually, just thought your timing was a bit off that's all. Apologies for the cheeky jab :)

Heal well Peanut, see you out there soon :)

Mate, that sucks about your bike and your leg! I hope you recover well and learn whatever can be learnt from such an experience. Chin up!
