If you are staying at Wentworthville F1 you will need a bulletproof vest at the very minimum.

I may have some fuel hose that will fix it.

And so should repco! Why is this stopping you Mike? It's just some fuel hose!

Unfortutately it was the timing of the problem, not the problem itself.

I was meant to drop the bike off for tyres yesterday morning. Instead I woke up a 7, spent 2 hours cleaning my driveway, trailer and bike. Then had to work for 5 hours.

So after that I got home, threw the R1 on the trailer and drove to Sydney. Next week will give me enough time to get new fuel lines and tyres for the Good Friday OP trackday.

bad luck about the split hose mate......good idea to replace all rubber bits when doing a build like this....

How good is Bruce eh ?? He knows his way around a motor, and I reckon he is the best go-to bike mechanic in town....

I have to add - the 3 of you (Bogan, Jono and you) crack me up - its the rebirth of the Three Stooges !!! all I gotta do now is work out who is Larry, Curly and Mo !!!

Oh, and I still need tyres. But I'm saving cash ATM for a car so it may be a while before I can afford another trackday.

Murphys law: If you take a bike you have for sale to the track for a 'last run' or out on the road for a 'last ride'... you will damage or destroy it prior to the sale being completed :up

Thinking of doing EC on the 8th of June.

That might give me enough motivation to buy some fuel hose and get the fooker running again :up

I did some testing in my driveway.

    Initial results have concluded...

    1) the bike is a nugget
    2) square tyres make turning difficult
    3) and my driveway is too short.

Next step will be a new chain, sprockets look to be in reasonable nick still. Haven't checked the front one thou. Then tyres, still not sure what to go with. Don't want to go with slicks yet, just in case I get a wet track day.

Then, hopefully an OP, WP or Marulan track day before the end of July.

Its looking good Mike! :up I can't wait until i know how to do all this stuff lol. Helps if you have a manual that wasn't scanned and put on the internet lol.

Slightly off topic but does Rick Miller do a service on bikes for anyone like me?? If so can someone please send me his details.

    Thanks

    Team Ghetto

Time for a quick update from team ghetto. From the same team that bought you the ghetto blade. The ghetto "?" (taking suggestions).

    Ok, so its ready.

New chain, sprockets were good so kept them (actually haven't checked the front one, should probably do that soonish) :loser . Got some superbike slicks, Pirreili things that look like there fast :biggrin

Brake bleed, with new pads, so hopefully this one should stop. Which would be a novel concept, I'll let you all know how I go with brakes. :crazy Still think it'll just make me slower.

All my junk is packed in a box, just have to get my (Jono's) trackday checklist ticked off tomorrow night. So it's all cylinders firing for Friday.

The bike is held together by various DZUS fasters, tape (a special on the ram air intakes), cable ties, random bolts and washers some of which I think belong to a '69 MGB. I also have various other dodgey solutions which I wont name, some of them are so good I think I might take out a patent. :whistle

It's only taken 6 months but I might finally get to ride the damn thing!
