Of course a parked thread has nowhere to go... now if it were parked on a centre stand instead of a side stand, one hip thrust could get it moving again...

Which is good practice for body steering as well. Double win.

when the only hip-thrust practice one gets is when moving ones bike off the centrestand................its hardly surprising it is so popular with that sort of crowd !! :tfgay!:

Yes it is (about parking). Just some differing views on what stand to use, side or centre. As long as your bike is still on two wheels when you get back from where ever, it's a win.

Rode the scoot to get the morning paper at Kippax and saw yet another car pulling into where the motorcycle parking is as I was heading towards it. I pulled up behind them and was just about to give them a blast of the horn and a rant when I noticed that it is now a disabled parking spot...Lucky I looked first :) The motorbike parking is now in the middle of the car park near the trolley bay and is 2 car parks wide.

Just wondering if I should use my bike without the sidestand cut off switch connected (bolt broke trying to get it off). Any thoughts?

Not really a parking issue, as long as the switch is not engaged or doesn't self engage at an inopportune time.

We have dedicated MC parking at Jamison Plaza, and Supa and I witnessed a bloke in a minivan full of kids* pull up, diagonally across the 20m long parking area when we’d ridden down to have breakfast one Sunday morning. I called a number to report the parking infringement, they told me to take photos of his car, the signs, date + time and his number plate – I emailed them to RUS and afaik he was issued a warning/and or a parking infringment. I gave him a patented “Miz Rant’ about his ignorance and my disgust at people like him (we’d parked in the designated space, and he still managed to block us in with his woeful parking skills) and he just wound up the window and gave me the finger.

He didn’t like it when I took the photos though and was screaming and flailing his arms about. We lolled, that made him angrier. hehe

*no sympathy – You stuck it in and they came out. Noone to blame but yourself mate.
