    I think its to use to on the bolts that fix the rear hoop of the ventura rack. The circular things have holes drilled in them so you can stick that in and get a little bit of leverage. Could be handy if one comes loose on a ride.

    But no really not very important you can always just use multigrips....

    Its alright had me completely fucked when I first bought my blackbird too. Was only when I took the rack off to replace it with hard panniers that I figured out what it was for.....

    Nominally it's actually a shackle key, but Ventura include it as the tool for tightening/loosening the thumbscrew as his royal Binkness states above.

    Personally I piss off ventura rack thumbscrew shitness and use a short M6 capscrew with a locking nut. 10mm spanner and 5mm allen key required, but they're kinda handy to have on the bike anyway.
