    Kevlar Jeans

Yes, that is correct, the kevlar jeans originally advertised by Takamii are now ready for perusal. I will be bringing a pair along to coffee next Monday (not wearing, so that they can be properly inspected :)) so anyone who wishes to take a look at them, can do so...

Apparently there is a minor flaw in the colour over the knee section, it really should 'wash in' after a couple of washes, but the good bit of that is that the jeans will be available to CR members for the sweet sum of $80!!! (now that's a bargain)

    Cheers all

ps. Can those who were originally interested in the 'Fat Bastard' sizes please PM me...
pps. If you can't wait till monday to check 'em out, also PM me and I'll pass on Takamii's email address so you can organise something with him :)

I'm looking to get a pair from CMC, they are going to cost me $220. The only reason I am getting them from there is because I got a few gift vouchers for xmas.

    Re: Kevlar Jeans

Well I picked up a pair of these tonight.

Will be testing them (not behind a ute :lol ) over the next few weeks, on the daily hack to/from work.

Initial impressions after wearing them for a few hours ?:

Good cut, they fit my fat arse well. Size 42.

The denim is pretty heavy-duty - I am not sure of the 'weight', I think they are 14oz ?? In any case, the denim is nice and thick.

The leg length feels good, when sitting on the bikes at home, the length is just right for normal boots ie. does not sit up over ankles like my current duds do.

Double-stitching in the right spots.

For my requirements, I think these jeans will be fine. I just need some riding jeans that have more protection than normal Levi's or cargo pants, for the daily commuter hack.

Will give a better report once I have had a chance to use these on the bike for a week or so....stay tuned.

I haven't been able to make coffee for a while but just yesterday (while reading this thread actually) found I have just got a tear in my Draggins. How can I go about ordering/buying a pair of these? Do I just PM yedi and contact Takamii directly?

    Re: Kevlar Jeans

The $80 ones were "imperfect" they had imperfections in the dye. The $115 ones are perfect :)

Well that was my understanding :whaaa

Pretty much what Macca said. If you want you could always go buy the brand name ones for double the price?

I guess if the only difference was the price, that would be a valid point. I think it needs to be assessed as a "Value for Money" proposition not just cheapest price.

    Just my 2c

The brand 'Takamii' is no more... Name change to Motolegion :)

Anyhow, there have been a few changes made to the design of the jeans which have pushed up the price by $15 a pair to $115ea (the $80 jeans were 'seconds' due to some discolouration over the knees...)

There is more kevlar in the new ones (goes further down the side of the leg) and the zips are now YKK as there were a few small issues with the zips used in the last run...

These will be available in Black or Blue, and come with a free t-shirt.

Hopefully I should be able to bring a pair to coffee again for your perusal in a couple of weeks once they're available :up

Any enquiries please PM me...

    Cheers

    Re: Kevlar Jeans

How's about, rather than the nay-saying, you provide some constructive ideas instead?

Such as your comment that the kevlar should have gone further down the outside of the leg in the last lot. I passed that on to Takamii, and he's now made exactly that change to the design... It was also your idea to remove the button on the rear pocket, which you'll notice happened in the first full run of the product...

And if you could please elaborate on the
comment that'd be great. If you bothered to actually look at the quality of the manufacture, I suspect that you'd feel differently about these jeans...
