Not that I'm trying to steal thunder here - but weren't those points originally mine and not Riicho's ? Or did I miss something ? Anyway.. I'm pretty sure they where some of my feedback points on the product... :up

    Yedi,

    This is very far from nay saying. A couple of points;

    1. I did “bother” to look at these jeans at coffee a couple of weeks ago. In “My opinion” the Kevlar was a lot thinner than the Kevlar in the Draggin Jeans I have.
    2. Value for Money is a fairly simple equation. Price as a component of suitability/quality/feasibility or any other criteria you want to apply to the product. In assessing this product for me, I had concerns about the stitching around the crutch area, no certification being available to substantiate that the product would hold up in the horrible event and the ability to get support should anything go wrong. We all assess value for money when doing any purchase – we don’t buy blade steak just because it’s cheap – we don’t drink International Roast/No Frills coffee & very few of us went out and brought the cheapest motorbike we could find, we brought what we determined to be the best Value for Money for us.
    3. I didn’t make the comments about the panels or pockets sorry.
    4. I believe in supporting local business provided they meet MY Value for Money criteria.
    5. I will also be looking at other “Cheap” Kevlar jeans and will be applying the same criteria to them. This is not limited to just this product

Please be aware, this is not the opinion of the masses. Just me having my 2c and I wish you both well with the venture.

Im pretty happy with my pair of 'imperfect' jeans. So were the guys at work with one bloke going and buying 2 pairs. If the zips have improved then thats good, mines been 'imperfect' but acceptable for such a cheap price. Ill prolly get a black pair when I get back from OS.

I like 'em, for jeans... I'd never wear them though, I can't seriously look at denim without thinking of line-dancers, and that makes me nauseated. :spew2

I have been wearing a pair of the *imperfect* jeans now on a daily basis (for the commute to/from work only) - for the past couple of weeks.

These jeans deserve a product review of their own, so I will knock one up shortly......

I'm still interested in a pair as even at $115 they are much cheaper than Draggins, but it's just the lack of testing that makes me unsure about them.

beauty Gos as a crash test dummy, I'd love to see how they stand up to an off, and your farts
it's a case of you get what you pay for.....or the $100 helmet for a $100 head argument

I'll be up for a pair of these as soon as I can find 115 spare clams.

    :up

Yedi what's the chances of having a few pairs at coffee in various sizes to try on, or are you not that far on the inside of this deal?

:lol :lol you score a mighty 1 out of 3 !!

the words "Gos" and "crash test dummy" are mutually exclusive. If you are waiting for me to road-test these.....don't hold your breath !! :whistle

How they stand up to an off ?? see above. However - if YOU bought a pair, we would know pretty quickly how they stand up to the taste of tar !! :lol :lol :lol :whistle

How do they stand up to my farts ?? Well, the results are inconclusive.....the kevlar weave in the arse-area seems impervious to most toxic plumes released thus far....

I entirely disagree with the comparison of $100 helmet to $100 head. A $300 helmet from HJC provides exactly the same level of protection (as per ASA 1698) as a $1200 Arai. Its not a convincing argument especially when applied to pants.

I can *absolutely* guarantee you or anyone else, that these first batch of $80 Takamii jeans, provides levels of protection which far exceed those provided by $90 501 Levi jeans !

The same argument applies to things like those $300 Sartso-Killer jeans. I mean, really, do you think that these style of kevlar jeans provide $300 worth of protection ??? Hardly. They are nothing more than a fashion statement. Hornee Jeans are in the same boat.

Who's up to chuck $150 in and buy two pig carcasses from a butchers, plus then $200 for a pair of draggins, and $115 for these fellas?

I have a car and some tow ropes :rockon

Sorry, my bad. It was during a discussion with Riicho at coffee that he brought up the whole kevlar down the leg thing, so I attributed that to him :) And as for the button, meh...

As previously discussed, the only jeans that seem to go through the type of testing being discussed are Draggins. All the rest are just jeans with kevlar bits :)

The new batch is triple stitched, so that should be taken care of
And the support if something falls apart is definitely there. The importer is a local, and stands by his product, as beholden by the changes made to the upcoming lot of jeans.

New jeans should arrive and be available for purchase/perusal in approximately 2 weeks :up

I'll see what I can do...

Ooh, one quick question while I remember... Why have the two jeans threads been merged together? I quite deliberately started a new thread for the new brand name...

Are you able to bring any others for trying on purposes or ask Marinko to pop into coffee one day?

Fark these look alright!! I love the idea of knee armour pockets too, when I had my recent off, the Bikers Gear Australia kevlar jeans I was wearing didnt wear through, but I do feel that if I had armour in the knees, I wouldnt have ended up with a swollen knee thats still troubling me a little. And maybe no abrasion on the knee either. Looks like plenty of kevlar in these too.

these held up well in my spill, slight knee graze was all and they were the first model with less kevlar then these.

Ill buy a new pair when I can get back on :)
