So, I have my new Visa, which will last me 2 years. So now I know I am not getting kicked out for a while, time to do my P's test. (and start saving for my new bike).

Now, do I do the P's on there bike, or mine? How much slow speed stuff is there for the P's? As I must admit, I am a bit crap with the Balius at slow speed. It has a long first gear and the clutch is very smooth without much feel between the bite point and when it has finally fully taken. (perhaps I just need some more practice), so often in car parks and such I have find myself doing the power-stutter-power-stutter thing, too low revs for the speed, because I thought the clutch was still at the bite point but had fully taken.

    Anyway, thoughts or advice?

I think you hit the nail on the head.
Just keep practicing. There has been mentioned many a time around here of the various carparks with the test markings painted on them. I would say practice whenever you can.

I used theirs when i did my Ps test because it was more reliable at the low speed stuff than my trailie that i had at the time.

Also - they dont really care if you drop it.

EPIC has the lines marked for practise if you havent been there yet

I've heard those lines are pretty confusing, unless you know how they actually run the P's test. It just seems like a mess of lines.

It's all low speed stuff, nothing over 25km/h if I recall correctly... and yeah, paractice practice practice! Do lots of low speed stuff and learn to control the bike using the clutch and rear brake and you'll breeze through it

The test is very similar to the nsw one.

Give me a ring on the weekend and I'll take out some cones and we can run you through the course.
My brother needs the practice as well (and we can laugh our arses off at him fucking up on the cruiser) so it'll kill two birds with one stone.

Go out to Epic where it's painted on the ground. it's spread over more space, so less confusing.

i did the test on the bally, she did it great :p yours is pretty much the kwaka version of the bikes they have which are just naked honda 250's. plus it's an extra $60 or something to use theirs, i'm a tightass and refused to pay that much for 5 minutes of use :D

I went out to EPIC yesterday on the xv750 and managed to do the u turn with about a metre to spare (on the tighter marking) by the end of the session - it really is all about confidence to lean the bike over... at the beginning i was missing the wide marking by about a foot or so.

if you practice by trying to lean it more and more every turn (and offset by leaning yourself away from the turn at the same time) it becomes very easy... to the point where you can sit completely inside the marked out u turn area and do circles in it :p
