So who does any? What are your goals or motivation, how long have you been doing it...

Me, I hit up the gym 3 times a week getting into a lot of weights recently. Also run twice a week and play football on Saturday. Planning on losing around 20kg. Down 8kg already.

Bit of a random topic but I thought I'd put it out there to see what other people do.

Ive recently hit the health kick thing.
Not quite as serious as you as i dont have the spare cash or time for gyms but i bought a X trainer for home.
Aiming to get rid of my child hood gut, but a weight number isnt set as the fat disappears and new muscle replaces most of it thanks to my age and job.
My motivation is just to be able to use the bike to its full potential.

Used to virtually live in the gym, been slack recently though. My latest goal is to ride my pushie to Piccadilly Circus in the Brindabellas.

    On the bike, most likely.
Varied general physical training 2-3 times a week, courtesy of my unique work environment. Plus a 4-times-a-week weights program, swimming training twice a week, and long distance running three times a week.

How far is that? I was getting on the pushie a couple of times a week before daylight savings ended...

Now I just smash up the weights as I CBF'd riding in the dark.

    Ready to cry?

Monica does 50 push ups (bloke ones on toes, not knees!), 300 sit ups, lifts weights and then gets on the cross trainer for 30 minutes. She maintains a heart rate of about 220-230. Sometimes, she passes out. She can run from Campbell Park stright up the scrub to the top of Mt Ainslie in 15 minutes.

    Every freakin day.

I've tried to get fit. I'm up to about 2000 mouse left clicks and 400 right clicks a day. Sometimes, I type too.

i head to the gym for kickboxing one a week... occasionally I might do weights, a light jog, or a cardio workout on the treadmill (at the gym)...

On my 'off' days, opening and closing the garage and wheeling the bike out is enough for me... I mean, isn't it just hard enough to drag yourself off to work?!?

    Yes, I has bikes
Last year at work, a few of started walking up Mt Ainslie from behind the War Memorial. After a half-dozen trips, I could get from the road to the summit in 22 minutes at a brisk walk.

Now, I walk to the fridge. :ridgy

Really should do something serious though, to try and peg back down <100kegs. That would be nice.

40kms each way from Kambah. It would be tough on the way there, but literally all downhill on the way back.

Side benefit - I'll get to be one of those annoying pushie riders on Mt Mac. Hopefully Murphy will be riding past so I can swerve at him :lol

I look at Jono a bit, I'm not sure whether he notices. I'm hoping I can get fit by osmosis.

I do weights 4 times a week and am waiting for a badly sprained ankle to heal to continue doing running. I've always wanted to be able to run 10kms without stopping, and the canberra fun run is where it's gonna happen :cool

I have great intentions. I plan to do weights training, and cardio exercise, like riding or even walking.
But then I figure, why pedal when I can sit there and let the motor do the work, so I switch bikes.
Although the Chiro has just told me that I need to cut back on my weights training for a couple of months and focus more on cardio. Dam, just as I was starting to do it again.
Anyone know where I can pick up a cheap exercise bike?

I decided that because of my ridiculous job that will only become more ridiculous the closer we get to an election that the only time I could do ANYTHING remotely physical was at 6am. So Ian's job is to kick me out of bed (something he does remarkably well while also being really very nice about it and also going straight back to sleep) And then I get on the pushie and ride around Lake Tuggeranong. I aim to do this about three/four times a week. Doesn't always happen though. On the plus side, when I do go to APH, the place is f*cking massive. 26kms of corridors in that building, so I get a bit of walking in. Plus, don't underestimate the value of taking the stairs instead of the lift.

mate if you want to lose weight quickly you have to be willing to abuse your body a little
I used to be 105kg - then lost 20kg, im now 85kg, initially lost about 15kg in 2 months with this routine
1st month - CARDIO- ALL CADIO, 1-2 Hours of cardio 2 times a day, 5 times a week, then once a day on wkends,
2nd month u still do the same cardio in the morning and night + throw in a weight session to finish yourself off...dont get me wrong there has been many a time i have been on the tread mill and felt like i was going to faint - but you just push through it!!!
i have been pretty slack as of late and havent been to the gym in about 2 wks so i have to get back into it - work and the bike have just started taking alot of time!!!
but be sure you are doing the gym for the right reasons - for you and only you - you will fail if your doing it for someone else etc....
I usually push hard as the quicker the results the more motivated you are to keep going (no im not on the roids - $800 for a 2 month course -wtf - i could spend that on the bike - well that and the whole other issues that are associated with them!!! :loser )
but mate if you ever need a hand let me know and i can help you hopefully get where you want to get to!
Oh the other thing - protein shakes are your friend - although ill tell you what - im f$cking sick of chocolate/vanilla/cookies and cream.....im sure its great if u have it every once in a while but when u have them 2-3 times a day well it gets old fast...that and well lets say you get very gaseous after a while bahahahahahaah :lol
but it depends on what you want mate......went from wearing size 38-40pants and size large/xl shirts to small/meds and 32-34 pants :D
trying to cut at the moment - bf is getting high *sigh* and then gotta build up bulk again - goal is to trim down from 85kg to about 78kg then build back upto about 90-95kg and get ready for the gridiron season which starts around august :)
Me and my mates have a moto.....but maybe not appropriate for this forum
ah what the hell....to all the girls...i appologise.......

    our moto

*GET MASSIVE - F@CK BAD B!TCH3S* :yahoo: :angry
